The pattern contains the knitting instructions and charts for both the Porlock Bay and Exmoor Flora.
Please note that the Porlock Bay (blue ) chart has a mistake. The square at column 15, line 36, should be coloured BLUE. Exmoor Flora is correct.
Fair Isle pullover patterns
These are the original pullover patterns, Porlock Bay (blues) and Exmoor Flora (earths). Each pattern consists of 4 A4 pages – a front page picture of the finished knitted pullover in the relevant colours, a colour chart and two pages of knitting instructions.
There is a mistake in the instructions for the large size in the paragraph “the next step is to separate the body and sleeves”, line 2, which should read “The next 64(64)67(72)72 sts are not knitted”…… Similarly, on line 4, it should read “The next 64(64)67(72)72 are not knitted”..

As a later development, four more colour charts were developed with different main colours viz Hedgerow (pink), Pasture (green), Earth (red), Berry (whortleberry). Although the cover page was either Porlock Bay or Exmoor Flora, the knitting instructions remained the same, only the chart within varied. At point-of-sale, a card showing the colours of the chart within was attached to the front of the pattern
